Elon Musk's rocket company, SpaceX, has set a new milestone. For the first time, a part of the company's Starship rocket successfully returned to the launch pad, marking a global first. This achievement brings SpaceX one step closer to its goal of reaching Mars.

On Sunday, local time, the Super Heavy booster of the Starship rocket safely landed back on the launch pad after a successful launch. The rocket was launched for the fifth time from the Boca Chica Space Center in Texas at 7:25 AM local time.

At one point, the second stage of the spacecraft separated and fell into the Indian Ocean, while the Super Heavy booster returned to SpaceX’s tower. The booster was automatically captured by the launch tower’s robotic arm, known as "Chopsticks."

After five attempts, SpaceX finally succeeded, having failed in its previous four tries.

The Starship rocket can carry up to 100 passengers at a time and over 100 tons of equipment. The Super Heavy booster is equipped with 33 engines, making it twice as powerful as NASA's Artemis rocket.

Elon Musk’s vision is to establish human settlements on Mars, and this reusable rocket is designed to support that ambitious goal.
